Default Old Farms of West Virginia

Here is one of several photos I took on a trip to Seneca Rocks, WV. The weather was cloudy and gray that day so I had to resort to shooting things that didn't include the sky, which unforunately meant I didn't get many good shots of the cliffs. There were other things though...this pic was taken the same say as the rusty barrel one actually.

The horses were grazing there for quite awhile. I wish I would have had a larger zoom lens to get some closer shots of the horses. Anyways, tell me what you guys think. Particularly regarding the composition.

Default Sweet Shot

Hey!

Let me know next time you make that trip. That is just a few minutes from my house, and I pass it all the time coming home to Moorefield WV from Marshall U. in Huntington. Nice shot! Get anything else while you were here?

I covered the building with my thumb and it looked a better composition immediately.

a.saliga,

This is worth keeping, and if you can't retake with horses where you'd like them, you can get creative and shift things around some, including making the horses bigger:

Like the edit Jiminy...oh how I wish I had a 300mm so I could do that without having to work in post.

As far the ISO goes snapdragon, I don't know off the top of my head. I've been having an issue where after exporting my pics from Lightroom to Photoshop I lose my metadata in the file I output. My guess would be 200 or 400. I can double check. As far as the pixelation goes I see none when viewed at 1024x683 and 125dpi (should be fine for monitor resolution), which is the highest res I posted on my Flickr. I convert my files from 3888x2592, 16bit RAW files to conserve bandwidth on my free account. If you're opening the file up in Photoshop and zooming in to greater than 100%, then of course you will see pixelation. If that is not the case, then it is likely the very humid and hazy day that I shot.

taykuyphotoart, I actually live in Bridgeport/Clarksburg area, but am currently residing in Tulsa for school. I do have other shots. As I mentioned I had to focus on other things besides the rocks that day due to the high humidity and overcast skies which made everything gray. Not ideal for shooting shots with the sky in them. I think I tagged "Seneca Rocks" to the ones I shot there that day. The ones I took of the rocks aren't really worth posting due to the ugly skies.
