Smile Yellow Bird Pride

I was wonder if any one had any advice about the adjusting of color I feel like this bird doesn't stick out enough or that something is missing to the shot.

Any advice would be great!

Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/3.3
Focal Length: 47.7 mm
ISO Speed: 80

Yellow Pride

P.S. If anyone happens to know what type of bird this is it would be a great help to me. The only other thing I know about it is that it has nest that hang from trees.

This is a very nice shot. The colors are great. I would crop it closer around the bird the flowers are a little distracting.

great little bird ya have....and sharp as a tack.....

i had a go of it to try and adjust out a bit of the yellow....which to my eye was distracting.....there were two ways i attacked it....

color filter......i simply washed it with a cooling filter set at 25%......the yellow was toned down and some of the brown of the bird came to the front....

i also thought i would use the selective color....selecting the yellows and pulling the slider back down to -31 which achieved much the same result as the color filter.....but, i made it more to my liking by also bumping the cyan on the neutrals.....

usually when one of my photos has a color cast to it, i attack first by adjusting levels.....which in this instance yielded little result....if that fails i go to selective color......and then my last line of defence is a colored filter....

i hope this helps...
