I'm not quite sure what you were after with this but it doesnt do much for me. Parts are out of focus and the color is all off.
Try shooting right before sunset or sunrise when the lighting will be much more forgiving and soft. I look forward to seeing your next work!

I actually like this picture a lot. I like the color tone too. This is great to me. =)

I like the idea, concept and execution, but I think my problem may be with the post processing. I tend to over darken my pictures, and I think the tones here are a tad on the dark side also. The picture seems carefree, but the tones suggest gloomy. Once again, cool shot.

LMarcia, Welcome
It's refreshing to see someone excited about learning, and I hope that will stay with you. I love post processing, but I went at it backwards: before I could get a decent shot of my own, I started working on old family photos, scanned magazine shots, downloaded news items etc. I don't know if that helped me, compared to first getting a lot of photography experience. What I see in your first post is an edit of a photo that may not have turned out the way you wanted. If you tour around here, you'll learn how to keep shoes in focus, girls out of focus, and how to get that washed-out look by over-exposing a little. If you can, try for more camera experience, then use post processing as an accessory. You have chosen a difficult and rewarding subject to photograph, it will be fun to see your progress.
