Default Imperial palace - Tokyo

Hi Guys,

I am new to DPS. I found loads of stuff in this site and am happy that I end up here to nourish my photography skill. At present, I am amature photographer and want to learn photography seriously.

I own a Sony DSC 6MP digi cam and now taking most of my shots with that stuff. Planning to upgrade in to DSLR in near future.

I have attached one of my work here, and I welcome your valuable critics and improvements in that shot.

I shot this in Tokyo's Imperial palace where the Prince and Princess of Japan stays.

nvindoh,
Welcome to DPS! Hopefully we here can help to provide you with some good tips to stretch your brain in photography. I love the shot. You have great symmetry from the bridge and the water. The one thing that looks off to me is the bottom of the shot. I would possibly contemplate cropping the bright part of the water down there. Just doesn't quite look right to my eye (although I'm not 100% sure about that). Either way it is an absolutely lovely capture. I can't wait to see more.

Default Sky

I feel that when the sky has nothing to offer - don't shoot it. The greyness is a killer to many days of shooting.

With the reflection I'd like to see a complete 50/50 reflection. Otherwise, it'd just distracting. I'd crop it down a bit.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your valuable feed back and I keep all those points in my mind during my next shot with reflection :-)

I have attached 2 new shots which I took in Nagano prefecture on the fateful day where a 6.7 magnitude EQ jolted the near by Niigata prefecture in Japan. I felt the strong tremors when I was inside the castle.

I welcome all the critiques for this 2 shots & ways to improve
