Default Zebra

Zebra

I took this photo in a park close to our home
I had my camera on the tripod with the 500mm lens and these Zebra just keep on coming closer..they were very interested in what I was doing...

Very nice!!

It just bothers me that the tip of the ear is out of the frame..
And if I may give you a tip: when I have these kind of shots where they eye is very visible, I select the eye and use Unsharp Mask to sharpen the eye extremely. Give it a try and see if you like it.

At a second look it looks like there is a little bit of a green cast over the zebra, but to be honest, here at work, I am not sure. Let's wait for others to give some C&C

But the photo is sharp and has good colour. Great animals these zebra's!

Thanks for sharing this one

willielieb,

Triglav's spot-on, the eye's a golden brown, would liven the face. Had no idea the mane followed in the stripe pattern. Thanks for bringing us a black and white in color.

Great capture. I viewed it large on Flickr and could even see the hair on his chin. I think the color cast mentioned couild be a combination of the green background and the natural dirt on the zebra. I don't think they are white white. I have a big all white dog and she rolls in the grass and dirt and is seldom all white! Nice photo!

Your 500 lens does a nice job. Good dof and a nice capture.

Yeah, as Saralonde mentioned there is great separation between subject and background. Nice job.

Have you tried this image in black and white, and maybe push the contrast a little? Maybe that's too cliche for a zebra, but it might give the shot even more impact and might negate the problems of the zebra not being as white as everyone expects.
