I've been learning to do Orton Imagery. Tell me your thoughts on how I might improve please.

I think it looks good over all... I think the blur around the church steeple is a bit spread out. Not sure how to explain it....loos as if it smudged out into the sky.....does that make since.
I have never really tried orton but have been told some of my photos look like they are ortonized. so apparently I am doing it just didn't know it....LOL!
I think if you thre in a layer with a dramatic sky then ortonized it it would really add to the top portion of the phot. I love that church though, where was that at........

Orton imagery is where you do several layers and turn your photo into something moreor less "romantic" for lack of a better word. Almost like a painting, almost like a picture. Here are a before and after pic of one I was just playing with. Its actualyl pretty easy and may have another name for it but Orton is what i was told

This the the old Morley Church ont he edge of southern Colorado almost to New Mexico. An old abandonded town and this is the only building that is still some what standing. I've been having a ball photgraphing it and doing different compositions with it.
It does look smudged, thats how you do the Orton deal, one of your layers has the Gaussion blur applied to it.

Lord, I tried it on one and now I want to go back thru and do it to all my pictures! lol

I get that feeling all the time about one technique and getting carried away with it. Im in a desaturating and B&W mood lately.
