Default Spoons

spoons #1

I would love to hear your feedback. How can I improve this shot, or what would you have done?

Setup for this shot was: 1 warm light source reflected on a white surface behind the scene. The spoons are lying over an old (and small) wooden chair. Post-processed the spoons to completly desaturate the spoons.

This is another shot of the same idea:

spoons #2

Thx in advance!

I like both shots but it seems like there is so much dead space in the first shot behind the spoons.

Yep that's true, maybe I should have tried spacing the spoons and moving the camera to an upper angle.

Hey Traxnet, are you doing Lighting 102 over at Strobist?

They did an assignment last week on lighting tableware, and these are easily in the same ballpark as the best of the work that was posted in the assignment.

I like more the first one, the second has too much empty space between the spoons.

I like the first one, the contrast is beautiful and the wood tones are rich
