Default On the Fly

Hey, I'm just looking for some ways I could improve these photos i took a while ago.

I used a Nikon D70s, i really like it and it came with a great quality AF-S Nikkor G type lens.

I dont' know what it is specifically about the first shot, but I really like it. I like that he is almost silouetted againsts the bright sky. I also like the way everything is off a little, him, the skate board and the horizon. Cool shot!

See my first thought would have been to the lighten the main subject up. My eyes are draw away from him to the lighter houses below. Or darken the subject and wash away the background.

I like the silhouettes.

I think the skateboard gets lost in the houses on the first photo. I would also get rid of the tree on the right.

In the second photo you've chopped him off a bit at the top. Also, I think there's too much ground in the bottom of the photo.

Great subject though, and nice that you went for the silhouette look! I like it!
