Default Redundant

Hi all,

Can you let me know what you think of this shot. I saw the item in the water at a local nature reserve and couldn't resist the shot.

Thanks
Malc

That is really a good shot. At first I thought it was a reflection.

Nice shot! I like this types of images that invite you to figure it out.

My bet is that it is a reflection.

I don't see how it could be anything but a reflection. Am I missing something?

It is a lovely shot.

I bet this is a reflection too. If it's not this is a really really good shot because it looks like any other angle would have ruined the illusion. But if it is great job getting all of us to question it. In any case this is a beautiful shot Malcolm.

You know, contrary to what others have said, when i first saw it i thought it wasn't a reflection. my first thought was, too bad about that shadow covering the bottom gears. then i realized it was a reflection and thought that must be the most still reflection i'd ever seen.

i actually think it detracts from the image. not a whole lot...i really do think it's a great image...but i think this great shot could be enhanced by two things. First, don't leave the submerged gears in the center of the shot. i would have framed it so that the gears were near the right of the image, pretty much following the "rule of thirds". also, i would have thrown a pebble into the water to get a little movement in the reflection.

just my opinion. as you can see from other comments, it's pleasing just the way it is.

Default yes it is

Thanks for the comments. It is a reflection. I don't think the pebble idea would have worked as I was attracted by the stillness of the water and the perfect reflection. next time I go to the spot I will try the pebble and compare the results.
Thanks again
Malc.
