Default Cow in Clover

Hi all! I'm new to the forum. I'm excited to learn, learn, learn here about my favorite hobby.
Below is a picture that I have always liked. However, I'm not sure about the placement of the cow in it. Is it weird that he's not more to the right? I don't know much about composition yet; I just go with what 'feels right'. Any other critique is welcome. Thanks

Generally speaking, You want to leave some room for the subject to look into or to walk into. In other words, yes, you would want the cow more to the right side & the open space on the left side(in front of subject). Now, if you were doing an action shot, it is best sometimes to have your subject appear to be leaving the frame. This can give a really nice looking effect. But it doesn't appear that that cow is very active. Cows can be that way sometimes. Having grown-up in Wisconsin, I know a thing or two about cows!

I agree with mirroring the image and even possibly taking out the hill in the background. I love the flowers around the cow but with the hill in the background it takes your eyes away from the main focus of the photo

It's probably just me but I don't really care for the colors. They don't seem to mesh right with me. You have the bright purple, the green, the blue... and this dark cow just standing there (as cows do.) But my mind just can't make them mesh together.
