Default Velvet Wings

Okay, it's not quite as in focus as I'd like; I was having a difficult time getting my tired eyes to focus this evening, but I still like how this turned out:

This is a crop, to better show off the detail. The full image is here.

velvet4269,

When you cropped this close to the edge of the wings, you got the maximum size of the butterfly, but you lost some goodness surrounding it. Some more leaf and a serving of the well-done background would place subject in lower right quarter of a square frame, still a good size (and appears sharper!) and has room to fly away.

Default Hi

Hi,
It's really a nice take, but I found colours little bit flat & less contrast. I also kept the shadow full for the impact. So I edited u r version and reposted it, hope u don't mind.
Regards,
Amol

I have to admit - I think the hardest part for me is deciding what to crop out, to get the most/best detail on the subject; and I am proud of the background on this one

What to crop or not to crop is always the hardest decision for me as well. It's what YOU like is what is important

Sorry, Amol ... I was running out the door this morning, late to work.

I do like the look of the wings on your image, and no, I don't mind playing with it
