I don't think I'd call it romantic - with the lighting and greenish colour cast, I'd go for Alien Rose as a title instead!

To romanticise it, I think you need more light on the petals of the main subject (at present the details are lost by being a bit dark, certainly compared to the choice of background) and white balancing to make the overall tone a bit warmer and less sickly.

Thanks. So just working on color. How about the overall photo and/or subject? It was hard to find the right placement of the pedals and what not.

To me it looks like magazine quality, the type of thing I would find on an ad

I think the colours are fine (but differnet tones could like wulf say help with getting it closer to the title)

Perhaps it would be better not to center the rose, but have it off to the side a little. Maybe crop it a little closer. Beautiful rose.

Hi!!
Colors are great, they look really realistic! I like the unfocused part much too.
And trying different crops may help you decide the better composition!

I agree with Wulf. I also think it would be better on an angle so you dont see down inside the rose.

When I see that angle of a rose, or any flower for that matter, I like to see all the little details of the smaller petals.

It seems to me that you need a light source to fill in the shadows in the petals. That was my first impression.

Also has mentioned before work on the white balance of the table that it is on.

It has a wedding feel to it. It hits me as being upside down for some reason; sorta like someone just put their rose down on a table.
