I, too am a newbie, and I seem to be having a bit of trouble getting started. I have one specific question that I have not seen succinctly addressed in my browsing of the forums-- can anyone please help me?
Must I upload my photos through a photo-sharing site (like Flickr, or PhotoBucket), OR can I simply upload my photos directly from my computer? I don't presently have an account with any photo-sharing site, and I can't quite grasp why it would be necessary for me to join one, simply to be able to post my work here... Thanks in advance for the assistance-- I'm anxious to join the community and share my work with you all! KenK8 |

A while back I joined Flickr just so I could post something in the critique section of this forum. Now I love Flickr. I've joined groups that interest me and I've added several contacts that do work I admire. It is a great reference source for those days when your imagination needs a jump start. I also like the idea of keeping my better shots somewhere other than my hard drive. A few years ago I had one crash and only after it had fried did I realize I had not been backing up all the digital photos I had been dumping on the thing.
You also have some sharing options, if you want to upload something and not share it with the world.

Hi Nicole,
I believe that photos saved on Skydrive can also be easily linked in. Just select the photo you want to use, press the Embed link to the right of the photo, copy the string and paste it into your post here. David |
