this is my first "pro" picture iv taken wit my new nikon D40. its the first camera iv bought and im VERY new to photography and its language but its all a learning curve and id like people's views on this particular one. thanks! cool site btw. Last edited by cahill; 08-05-2007 at 05:37 PM. |

Hello and welcome to DPS. I think you will learn a lot from the forums and blog as long as you are willing to keep an open mind and be willing to try different things.
As for you shot. I would crop off the left side of the frame basically take all of that black part up to the tree. The red flower in the top left corner is distracting. Also is it just me or is the picture kinda blue-ish could be a white balance problem. I would also mask out the flowers and give the background a gaussian blur to make the flowers stand out more. then maybe play with the contrast and sharpen and maybe a little saturation to give it a little extra oomph. Anyways that is what I would do if it were my picture.

ah yea cool man. im jus after taking photography up so eager to learn. I havent taken to editing my snaps yet i want to learn about the camera and the different settings. but thanks for the advice lads its well appreciated. iv only had the camera two weeks but i already want a tripod and iv got myself a zoom lens and a polarized filter for a fishing trip Saturday gone. worked well and all.
