Default Pelican

Got this one yesterday while looking at osprey nests. Does this work - angle, back-lighting, crop, coloring, etc.

Thank you

Nice shot. well exposed nice back lighting. good detail from what I can see from the "larger" version. Perhaps a little wider shot/crop to give the bird a little more room and a more interesting background but other than that nice capture.

It works for me. Nice clarity at the posted resolution. Good catch.

What lens did you use for this shot?

Thanks for the comments. This shot was taken hand-held with the Canon 70-300 IS DO lens at 300mm. f/11 1/500s ISO200 AV

I like the lighting and the overall pic a lot. Looks just like a big bomber coming back after a successful mission.

Arvid,

Beautiful as is; a diagonal crop would raise interest about 50%, unless original wouldn't allow for it.

Wow, arvid the diagonal really does add a lot of interest in the composition. Excellent clarity and colour on the shot too. Nicely done.
