Default Spreading My Wings

Spreading My Wings

I used my Nikon D-50 1/125s f/4.8 180mm ISO 800. I just stood there and waited for the shot. What do you think?

Wow, great timing well shot.

I would like to see more of its reflection in water than that background in upper 1/3rd. Wings action, color and the ripples in water seems more interesting, thanks for sharing.

Default Thank you Palachandra

I hadn't noticed it, I will try a closer crop while at the same time keep the wing spand.

Love the wings....Great timing is right!
maybe clone out the sticks up above the left wing. they seem a bit distracting

I love it in the small size, but the original is quite grainy - why were you shooting at an ISO of 800? Was it fairly dark as I see you your speed was only 1/125 at a fairly large aperature.

It was fairly dark and I had my camera set on auto. I have been having a lot of trouble with graininess lately and I don't know why. I shot the photo in camera raw, this is the copy I saved in jpeg. Can this be cause by the over use of my SD??

If you are shooting in RAW, depending on the converting software you use you may need to add some extra noise-reduction. The grain is good as is and there is almost no color noise (full-size shot) but it is a bit distracting and takes away from the overall sharpness here. Great capture though; my only critique would be to shoot from a slightly higher angle to knock out some of that upper distracting background and get a bit more of the great reflections.

yeah like all the other posts I think a better angle showing less of the branches and more of the reflection in the water would have been nice. but still a good shot none the less.

What a beautiful timing!
Too bad it was so dark,
would be interesting to see it at a quicker shutter speed, maybe.
The Focus is really good IMHO.
