Todd,

You chose a beautiful subject, with some light coming through the back. It has a lot of competition for attention from all the other blooms and stalks, though. Blooms are neatly contained by square frames, if you are an editor and like to experiment.

what beautiful colors, and you captured them so well. My humble opinion would be to crop it in abit tighter and bring the focus to the flower instead of what is all around it.

Todd,

Personal taste, if it's a strong photo, it will stand on its own. If not, a frame won't help much. That's a better crop; still thinking if only before pushing shutter, the other bits had been gently moved aside . . .

my personal preference would be for the second cropped image with no border. I was about to suggest that you try turning it upside down so that the flower faced upwards, but i just quickly tried it and it, well, made it much worse in my opinion. I'm not really sure why i thoguht i didn't look as good though casue there's nothing in the photo to suggest which way it is supposed to go......oh well i'll stop rambling.....

anyways: good shot i like it, especially the cropped version, keep it up!
