I love action shots like this....I would add a blur to the background and let him stand ot some more. maybe a motion blur would look cool. I like these shots to look grungy though so i would roughen it up some. Still a great catch other than the board being a bit blurred at the tail.

Wow! What a great shot! The only thing I would do is clone out the legs on the back wall they look like they are coming out of your subject. Tell me how did you take this (backstory)?

I have been working with teen agers at the skate park this summer. We have an understanding between us, if I get hurt it's my falt! They let me get right up in the action, sometime's I get hit with a board or a foot but I'm learning to move realy fast out of the way. I use alot of paning with my camera and I take alot of pictures.

hope you don't mind R.E. I took a minute and did a bit of a motion blur jsut to see how it looked...a bit too much directly around the subject I think.

Cool action shot, I agree with some of the previous advice about bringing attention to your subject by getting rid of the background...another way to gain this effect right out of the camera (always my preference) is to drag the shutter and try either rear flash or regular flash to freeze your subject, you can get creative and try panning with the action too...

This is just a great shot! I like it a lot and also think the background is ok (a little bit more blur would be good though)... That must be pretty difficult, I know because I used to skate myself (or at least tried to) )
