Amol,
Thanks for sharing your view. My personal preference would be color even though the sky is muted in this shot. There is some basic color in the foreground which tells the quality/nature of fence and that building. Tree and the sky look kind of B&W.

What if you tried a photo shop element that allowed you to have black and white in specific areas, and color in the grassy area along with the fenced area?
It would show the beauty of nature in the image, and highlight the fenced area as well. You could make the colors bold or subtle depending on the feel you were trying to achieve in the image. If you dont have a program that does this, I could try to do it for you on mine to show you the effects.

ladyjolene,
Good idea! Unfortunately I am not using any programs which can do this for me (I use Picasa for some basic fixes), and I am not expert in post processing. It’s my pleasure if you can try and show the effects You can get better resolution one in flickr by clicking on that image.

Thanks JC, for pointing out that. I really love the second crop, simple and powerful.

Palachandra,
The tombstone-looking thing in front of boy is probably a silo or some sort of building, but when I thought "gravesite," it really made a difference in focus. The right third probably looks better to you than the photo reveals, because you know what the rest of it looks like, but it doesn't show here. Sometimes all a photo needs is to be taken in separate shots, instead of trying to get a lot in one. You have a wealth of subjects there in India. Each one could be a subject.
