Speaking of landings, you really landed this shot. The light and shadow on the wings is endlessly interesting. I wish there were a bit more light on the head, but the world is not perfect.

I like the focus on the bird, but I am wondering how much you cropped off. I sort of wondered if giving us a bit more surf might be an option as a crop.

Default Original landing shot

More light on the head would have been great, I agree. Here is the full uncropped shot. Many a crop somewhere in between the original and my initial posted shot.

Peace

singsailor,

A little off top and bottom of your original would have given the Sun glow on wave crests and a glimpse of bottom near beach, both adding interest to a good shot. A portrait landscape is not a bad thing. Well shot.

Default Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the comments on the shot. Although I have taken many photographs, I am still discovering much. Your comments are very helpful.

I like the second one with more surfe but think a little less of the foreground would be better. great shot though.
I'm envious of everyone on here who gets good in flight shots.....
I guess I just need more practice.
