To me the biggest distraction is the brown building in the background. Now if you can get a construction crew to remove it you would be off a lot better... Seeings how you can't do that I think the lines are "just there" like you said. If you could get really high and shoot down it would make a much better angle because you would understand that it is a round about without being told. That also might eliminate the building without a wrecking crew and provide a good angle on the fountain as well. Or, if the round about is well lit, shoot it with a long shutter speed and get the cars moving through it along with the lit fountain. Just some ideas!

hmm... it does seem to just "be there."
I think the lines do help to show that it's a roundabout. The main problem I see is that my eye wanders all over the place. The small bush in front of the fountain is distracting, as is the contrast between the buildings and the sky. Maybe if you got in a little closer, opened up your aperture all the way, and got a part of the fountain either against either the sky or a building... ::shrug:: |
