Default Dripping Rust

Here is a shot I took the other day of part of a parked railroad car. I found the rusty handle and the pattern created by the areas where water has been (I assume that's what it is) very interesting. I wish the image were a bit sharper, but other than that it was one of my faves from that day.

a.saliga,

More and more, this type of shot interests me. You're right about focus, and that has a solution. You can figure that out. What's great is that you saw a combination of shape, color, and texture, and made an interesting photograph of it. What was probably an over-sprayed paint job, made a design on a common piece of hardware. Seeing the possibilities in that is a gift.

Nice work! I hope the folks that say there is nothing of interest to shoot around their location view this post. 8-)

Good point Clockdoc. I was pretty much saying that exact same thing awhile ago. Sometimes you just have to get out and go somewhere to shoot. Once you get there you'll see the little details that make the area interesting.

So I liked this shot so much that I went out to reshoot. I took several shots, but mainly wanted the one posted above, but with better focus. I made sure to use my tripod on these latest ones.

Here are my new shots.

There isn't much to this one...but here it is.

The textures are great - have you considered trying a few b&w converts for these, especially on the 3rd?
