Default Sleepy Cat

Welcome to thoughts on this shot of my cat. I took it with a nikkor 50mm 1.8f with an sb400 shooting 90 degrees to the camera. one of my first shots with both items.
also one of my first shots posted onto DPS

Cool

Nice and sharp, very fine DOF, and awesome color. You could have stolen this out of a magazine! (A cat magazine maybe...)

Very nice photo! He doesn't seem annoyed to be woken to have his/her picture taken!

I like the selective focusing in this photo and the warm color temp.
In conclusion this is a pretty nice photo.

I have to say I really do love the 50mm qualities. and the nice even lighting from the sb400. and yeah, Tuesday (my cat), is tolerant of alot of things, but he has no idea how good he has it. :-)

I like it a lot. I do wonder how it would have looked like in a horizontal format though.

I like the shot. I only wish the right ear was not cut off.

Very nice shot.
Focus on the left eye, crop and harmonizing colours ... do the job.
Wow !

i tried the horizontal format but the flash would have bounced off my white ceiling and all the warmth completely disappeared. i did try though. and yeah i definitely wish i hadn't had to chop off that ear, maybe i can try and recreate this.
