![]() This is my new Baby Chameleon I bought this week. I have more photos of him on my flickr page. He is about the size of two quarters. His name is Skiddles by the way.

Did you use your lens baby? or is this the product of a tight macro focus?
I had no idea these beasts had such delicate colouring. Thanks for introducing us to Skiddles. EL

love the subject. Have you ever had Veileds before?
One of the harder creatures for beginner herps to keep. A little more finicky. As for the shot it seems a bit too much area out of focus. I am familiar with the size though so i understand how hard it is to capture what you see. Maybe step back a couple inches and then crop in afterwards. Good luck with the Chameleon.

I used my kit lens with a close up lens attached that's why the DOF is so small. Skiddles has a UV light and a heat lamp that has a red light bulb. The red light build is what created the red highlights on him. The cage is pretty dark so I was forced to shoot at ISO1600 because I was sticking my head and camera inside the cage. There was hardly any room to move and focus so I had to do my best with what lens I had. I didn't want to freak him out either because I was super close to him and Chameleons get stressed out pretty easily.
I have a few more pictures of him taken further away. I just really liked the eye in that image. You can't realy tell how small he is but he's about the size of two quarters. Here are some more images of him. I have some other geckos as well. This will be my first chameleon. They don't really change colors until they get a little older. However my guy already shows darkness and stripes sometimes. I haven't been able to get a picture of him doing this yet becuase it doesn't last long. ![]() ![]()

Pictures don't do him justice. I should really setup some plants and stuff inside my light box so I can use a tripod and take some nice pictures of him while he's still a lil baby. He should be 17 - 24 in with in a year they grow fast so I won't have much time to work with him when he's mini sized. I'll take some video with my S3 as well it's really hallarious the way these things walk. 3 steps forward 1 step back. It's very weird they try to mimic leaves hehe.
