Default Self Portrait

Heres a self portrait I took with my new D40. Not exactly creative, but I'd like to hear C&C anyways.

me

I did'nt do much, I increased the shadows and highlights with picasa, put a black and white filter on it, and then put "film grain" on it. It was handheld, which explains the weird position of the shoulders. It was just on portrait mode..

Hi Nick. Have you experimented with the color filters in Picasa2 that simulate what the color original portrait would look like if it had been shot on black and white film with various colored filters such as red, yellow and green? I think you will find that green works best for men giving the skin a darker, more tanned result. Look for this under Filter Effects in Picassa2. Not a bad self-portrait but with a busy background. Please post one for comparison if you have time using the Picasa2's filter effect.
