Default sunset... another days has passed

Hi all,
This is my first post in this forum.
This is my first try to make a long exposure.
I took this picture when I was coming back from my last vacations. The sun was down, so I tried a long exposure.
It happens to fast, I stoped the car, put the tripod on position, placed a ND4 graduated filter and took about 10 pictures.
In the end just this one have passed my selection.

I would like to read your opinions about the photo, because I know it's to dificult to photograph a sunset in these days. There are zillions of sunset photos.

Hi gmarques and welcome to the forum. Thank you for providing the ecellent details as to how you took this photo. The EXIF data shows a 30 second exposure at f/22 on your Nikon D80. The time exposure has given the water that smooth, misty look and I assume that is what you were going for. At the same time the graduated ND filter was keeping the sky from 'blowing out'. Perhaps the time exposure allowed the clouds time to move as well. I also like how the sky darkens as it reaches the top of the frame. Nice work for your first submission. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Beautifully done! The water looks great. My only comment is that I wish we could see a little more of the red on the left and less of the dark on the right leaving the rocks about as they are.

This is an incredible photo! Awesome colors and the water looks great with the slow exposure. Excellent photo! I like it a lot.

Yes, this is great work. Everything seems to be working fine. The only thing I'd say is a little more contrast but that's just me because I love contrast.

Sunsets are difficult and they change so rapidly. I think you did a wonderful job. I think the only thing that might have made this more interesting is to have shot it lower on the rocks.

Nice shot. As you can see that sunsets are my thing. I think I would crop a little of the right off. but great shot.

Thanks for your comments!
I forgot to mention that the photo is from a place called "Porto Côvo" here in Portugal.
This is an area with tiny beaches between the rocks.
During the day and since is summer now, all the area is full of people, but just before the sunset all people have return to their homes, giving a good oportunity to the photographer.
Next time I will go down to the sand and try to capture a nice picture doing a frame closely to the sea level.
I'm now waiting for the winter hopping that I can capture a nice dramatic sky form that same place.

Ideas allways rollin' in my mind

Once again, thank you for the nice comments.
