Default Blooming

Bloom2

This flower was shot at 1/650s at F/5 ISO 200, 220mm. This was shot on a cloudy day. Cropped and color corrected in Photoshop.

Why did you shoot it at 1/650s?
1/80 or 1/100 is more than enough for non moving subjects.
This would have made your picture a littlebit brighter.
You then also could have lowered your iso and diafragma value.

I like this shot a lot. I did notice that what we see here in the thread has it a lot sharper than the full size on flicker. Try using a greater depth of field and givie it a slower shutter. It probably has to do with the resizing though. I like this smaller version a lot better because it is that much sharper. See if you can sharpen it up some more in the full size and see what happens.

The color and choice of subject is great here. The composition could be better. I feel like I want to get closer so maybe get in closer for the shot next time. Perhaps a square frame maybe? It'll create the illusion of being closer. Give it a try and see how it turns out.
