Default Temple

Old temple found at hill-station... Rainy evening and captured this just before the clouds cover the temple.

Edited in Picasa to give some-what sepia look. The crop includes the tree branch at right just to fill the empty space and to give sort of foreground. I shot this from top of the hill.

Any inputs?

Palachandra,

The Old Temple by itself, closer, larger, may have given a better photo. It's difficult to make fog interesting, although the fact it covers the temple is well documented here. Monotone almost gives it a model landscape look.

Thanks JC for your input. I have a plan to visit this place again in winter; will keep in mind your suggestions.

Palachandra,

Are you allowed inside? Can you photograph members of the temple? You have a way with people, and shoot faces well.

Yes JC anybody is allowed inside and I spent a night there. Hardly people visit these temples.

Inside the temple also its too dark (electricity is not there), light is coming from one of the open door and the Diya (kind of lamp). I could have captured better shots, if I carried my tripod.

Inside the temple, I used ISO 400, so iamge is not much clear.

Default Seethalayyanagiri, Chikmagaluru

Amol,

This place is on the way to Mullayyanagiri (Karnataka highest peak) and is called as seethalayyanagiri, Chikmagaluru dist, Karnataka.. Its around 15 km from Chikmagaluru and nice places are there around for trekking.
I visited in this month to enjoy drizzling rain, because here in Bangalore it hardly rains :-(

Palachandra,

Flash would be seen as disrespectful? Above image is almost in focus, very interesting. Sunlight and lamp, nice.

Yes, in almost all temples they consider using flash as disrespectful...but they allow tripod on request if it is clean :-) In some temples they don’t allow us to take even photos.

Palachandra,

If you listed your camera type and settings (in addition to ISO 400) for the indoor photo, certainly someone here will know how to get a good handheld sunlit shot.
