Default Weather Ravaged Tree

This is another shot I took from the top of Chimney Rock here in the Carolina Blue Ridge. The tree in the foreground was growing up between a several of the rocks, and shows the scars from hard mountain winters.

Again, I had to contend with atmospheric humidity causing the trademark blue haze in these mountains.

Looks like a windy place! Nice photo, good colors and composistion. I would darken the sky, and blur the mountains on the left.

The bottom of the tree almost blends with its background a bit too much, what kind of camera do you use? If possible, speed up your f/stop to give it a better depth of focus on the tree, blurring the background.

You tackled a tough scene in terms of sky and dark foreground. With the tree overlapping the sky in makes it even more difficult to separate the two for some work in layers. It reminds me of the lone cyprus out on the coast in California that faces a similar struggle to survive.
