Well this is my first photo that I am submitting for suggestions and I am really looking forward to hearing all the ideas that people have. I really want to improve my photography so any suggestions are welcome.

mappleby, Welcome

Just a fine photo! To be different from all those other reflective lake photos, have you tried getting lower to water so that reflection is still there, but horizon is in lower third line? Same imagery, not symmetrical.

sorry to edit and re-post without your permission, but i really like the shot and wanted to share the potential it has. All it did was play with the levels and curves to make the image pop. its a very rough edit but if you can see and like the difference maybe you can work on it a little bit more

DPS2

Great shot BTW

I agree with kunaldaswani. Some contrast adjustments will help it out some. Also, as what kunaldaswani did also brought out saturation in the image which was the next thing I was going to say.

Your photo has a lot of potential to show off blues and other colors and make it pop.

Mappleby, you have a very nice photo here. The shoreline may cut right through the middle of the shot but, in this case, I believe it works. I also agree that a little saturation increase is needed but not as much as Kunal has done. IMO something in-between would be more pleasing. IOW, just a slight increase in saturation to bring out the beautiful blue sky and clouds.

WOW kunaldaswani that really looks good... np with the edit and repost... I am going to add that to my Signature as soon as I am done here. Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions.

Hi JiminyClinkit thanks for the comment (I was hoping that you would see it as you always have great advice for peoples shots) I had tried to get closer to the water for a few of the shots but I was on a moving boat... and I couldn't see through the view finder... I snapped away anyway but I had a really hard time getting the horizon level. however I was able to get one that looked ok. I will post it later for commenting.

Thanks to everyone for the comments... I will try to make some adjustments and see what I can come up with.
