Digidave is right about the odd water effect at the bottom. Cropping it out may help with the illusion he is not behind glass, but you'll still be able to see the vertical reflections the glass is causing. Interesting eyeball, looks strangely human.

Great shot! Congratulations for taking advantage of shooting through the glass. I agree wit what others have said regarding cropping. If the eyeball could be moved closed to that '1/3rd position' you may have a much stronger image. Also try flipping the image from left to right. As we read into a photo, the way the hippo is looking causes us to leave the frame much more quickly. Flipping the image will cause it to look to the left and will help keep the viewer's eye in the frame longer. Nice work!

I can't get over the comment that the eyeball looks strangely human. I've had the heebyjeebies ever since!!
