Nice job of capturing this informal, National Geographic-style portrait. One thing came to mind after I attended a wildlife photography seminar this past weekend. The instructor encouraged us to learn as much about what we intended to photograph through reading field guides and speaking with local forest rangers. I think the same could apply here when photographing people in other lands. By getting to know their culture, it may help for better access to them and better photos. When you said she was startled, it may have been the first time someone has taken her photo. Perhaps she was startled as she had also just come out of the temple. How far away were you when you took the shot? I look forward to seeing more of your work in this area.

Digidave, windrider86, thanks for pointing out the glaring fault. I will be more careful next time.
Hi clockdoc, I was about 10-12 ft away, but the area was deserted, and I was a triffle odd man in my trekking clothes and camera hanging round my neck. I will keep posting such photographs in the forum. Thanks for the advice.
