Default Sunset At Binsar

Hi,
I visited BINSAR NATIONAL PARK INDIA this summer, enjoyed the stay their, putting up a series of photographs. Have a look at it & Pls reply.
Camera : Canon Rebel XTI / 400D
Lense : 75-300 III USM / 18-55 (kit lense)
Shooting Mode : Aperture Priority AE
Shutter Speed : 1/640
Aperture Value : 5.0
Focal Length :170 mm

This shot has great colours but I think falls short of its potential for two reasons:

1. The obvious focal point, the sun, seems haphazardly positioned in the frame. Something like the "rule of thirds" might seem to obvious but could give the image a greater sense of harmony.

2. The silhouetted leaves underneath the sun have come out well but there is something else obscuring the leftmost quarter of the image which was obviously nearer and has ended up fuzzy. It would be improved without that although I am not sure that there is enough other information in the picture to make it worth trying to rescue.
