Default Intrigue Sepia

Intrigue

I took this with my point and shoot camera. I cropped off some of the picture.

You have done well maintaining highlight (though just barely) and shadow detail. The sepia tone suits the environmental mood of the shot. IMHO, I would tend to crop a little more off the right side, even to include the telephone pole unless you can clone it out. That would make the house less central in the image.

Thanks for your feedback.

I'm learning how to use Corel Paint Shop ProX and will follow your recommendations and post the revised version in this thread.

I agree with the additional crop, I think to make it really look old I would clone the rest of the powerlines in the background out as well.

Reminds me of the "Texas Chainsaw Massecre" movie (the 90's remake, not he original)

Intrigue Corrected

This is the corrected version. I'm still not sure if I got good highlights.

Thanks for your feedback.

I never thought about erasing the powerlines. Good suggestion.

WriterBarb,

A level horizon by itself does not make a photo better, but it does remove one more thing the viewer's attention is on rather than your subject. Verticals even moreso, as here. This is good moody stuff, and no distractions should spoil that view.

Thanks for the tip.
