Default Josh - made first fire !!!

Hi, I tried to take another picture of Josh, this time him facing the fire. Please let me know what you think. Thanks a lot Iva

You cought his expression very well, he looks a bit scared of the fire, nice!

Try to avoid things in the background to be in your picture or use a bigger diafragma (if your camera can do that) to make the background more out of focus.
I also think the photo is cropped a little to tight. I would have given him more "free space".

Good capture of an excellent expression. I would have liked to have seen the fire that is causing this expression as without your explanation it would have taken me a while to figure it out. I like the way the illumination from the fire has 'wrapped' around his face providing some modeling of facial features.
Mischa's comment about using a using a "bigger diafragma" caused me to reread that a few times until I figured out it was the same as a larger aperture opening to decrease depth of field. 8-)
