This is certainly different than the majority of the work posted. I have to say that it grows on you, particularly after Jiminy saying he saw George Washington's portrait in the lighter area. I had to have a refill of strong coffee and a second look. By golly, he's there! Thanks for posting your works.

Hey jiminyclikit, clockdoc, learner andmfhurst, thanks for all the nice compliments! No the eyes do NOT belong to VanGogh, they belong to a Mrs Fairbanks ( Oil Baron's Wife) from Petrolia Ontario, Canada. Below are the original photos I used to create this photo.
![]() ![]() And my friend the pesky crow! ![]() A friend sent me these simple instructions, telling how he created his similar photos ----I just take a photo of something that has a really nice texture to it. I try to avoid wood and artificial patterns in things, though you CAN use them too. You can see in these photos that their is no pattern at all in it. It was actually a photo i took while sitting at my mothers' table in her kitchen..of her wall paper. It was sort of a texture design. Then, all you have to do is to open the texture photograph and SELECT/ALL and then EDIT/COPY. Then just exit that photograph. Now open your preffered photo, and go to EDIT/PASTE. Now it will be a "layer" over the top of your original photograph. If you don't see the Layers' Palette, just go to WINDOWS/LAYERS. It's in photoshop....the WINDOWS..it's at the top of your screen. Now, you just click on that tiny little arrow on the layers pallette and experiment with the different blending modes. They are called things, like....multiply, screen, overlay, luminosity,etc.etc..you'll see it. It's a tiny little arrow that has a dropdown list with these names. I usually end up with the Soft Light or the Multiply blending mode...that works. If it's too dark..i just go to the LEVELS and adjust the middle slider. You might want to copy all of this info and paste it in wordpad or something to go by later on. If you don't know what LEVELS are, let me know. I hope these instructions show you how simple these photos are to make. Please feel free to use these images(on the Digital Photography site only please) to make your own version (then post so we can all learn) I really only know these few simple moves (Listed Above), so if I can do this anyone can - jimmy

Can someone please tell me how I change the "Point and Shoot" below my avatar to say DSLR. I have tried many, many times to change this wording, with little success - thanks jimmy

I think you need to launch about 35 new posts -- the Point and Shoot is an automatic designation by the forum keyed to how many posts you make. I think DSLR comes at 50, and so on.
Here's the thread where the moderators introduce/discuss the system. Get typing. EL
