Default Busy Bird

Found this interesting subject , one is proudly sitting on his already built home and the other one is still building...

This is Indian tailorbird and there will be competition to build nests among male birds, to attract the females... Female will choose those male as its partner who will build comfortable and beautiful one. Its nest is a delicate structure of leaves stitched together with silk, wool, hair, and vegetable fiber and thereby the name tailorbird.

Any thoughts?

Palachandra,

Our local public TV had a film recently of these little artists in action. You've included clear imagery of their community, and a great silhouette in-flight of the working one, with "thread." Well done.

If I were to try a change, it would be to crop away right side, making a square, then lighten/contrast birds and center nests some.

Palachandra,

Exactly! And if 'twere mine, I'd flip busy bird so it was flying into photo center. Or actually move it into the area to the left of lowest nest. But that is for you to decide what looks better, and as you remember it.

I agree with you JC on this, but I am not much expert to work on Photoshop (Off course I don't have one). At max I could do some basic fixes using picasa :-)

Palachandra,

Would it be okay if I try a small edit? Might be about 12 hours before I get to it?

I don’t have any issue with that, any help would be appreciated.

Palachandra,

Thanks, it may illustrate a different idea of composition and it certainly gives me practice! Back in 12 hours.

Palachandra,

This was such a pleasure to work with, because of the shapes, and the colors of the birds that shadows had hidden some. And such an illustration of how moving around to take several views of the same thing can give such a different look. Most of your original is here; the nests are a little closer, the birds are a little lighter, and some of the shadows in the tree are lighter. I hope this is how it might have looked to you then.
