Default Pocket knife

Pocket knife

What do you think of this shot? What could I have improved?

I used single flash with a black straw snoot grid on it, set to 1/64th power and with a -1 EV filter. The distance from the knife to the flash is about 18 cm to make the light spot really small. The flash was hanging on the edge of a box I placed just behind the knife, and triggered by a Cactus wireless flash trigger.

Would I be correct in pegging you as a Strobist enthusiast?

I think its a really great shot. I love how the small light spot really emphasizes the pocket knife and also how not all parts of the knife are in the light spot. I think it's an overall really nice photo.

By Strobist I meant the blog that David Hobby runs -- I only ask because he had instructions on a black-straw snoot up the other day, and I first heard about the Cactus transmitters on his site.

If you haven't been over to his site, and you are a strobe flash fan, you gotta go check the site out, here.

Yeah, I know his blog all too well, I got the idea about the black straw snoot grid and the Cactus transmitters from his site.
