Camera- Nikon D80

Aperture- f/5
Focal Length- 32mm
ISO- 160

Hi BCP. Welcome to the group. NIce shot for your first submission. My only observations are that the sun is a bit too central in the image. It is difficult to reposition it within the boundaries of this shot due to the mass of the cloud but give it a try. The other point is that the photo nees a little more base. Can you provide any technical details such a EXIF data and any post processing? What is your first impression of the D80 and what lenses are you using? Again, welcome to the group.

Thank you for the welcome and your feedback. I will be able to provide more technical details once I get home, I dont have that information here at work. As for post processing, it was converted from raw to .jpg in Photoshop otherwise its as shot. I used a Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 lens to shoot the picture from the passenger seat of a moving vehicle.

My first impression of the D80, well to put it best I love it. It is my first SLR and I have had nothing but good experiences with it. It has lots of manual controls, yet its fairly easy to operate and understand. The pictures its capable of is just incredible.

The current lenses I have are
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Nikkor 50mm f/1.4
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8
Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8
and the Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lens the camera came with.

Welcome BCP.....you stumbled upon one the best sites out there.....
As for the shot I love it all ....except, there is always an except, the tree in the bottom right. I think it takes away from the shot since its so dark and barely there.....maybe if there were more light on it or if it was just the sky. I think the cloud formation is fantastic....great timing! Usually by the time I see the coulds and then get my camera out and all set up its all gone with the wind....literally!
Again, Great shot!

Thank you, for the welcome as well as your input. I agree with you on the tree statement.

This definitely seems to be one of the better photography forums out here from what I can tell, and Im glad to be a part of it.
