frg,

I miss the color, and the edge angle leaves very little subject to consider or appreciate. The project just needs that one bloom for this technique to produce a stunner, so keep looking at the possibilities. I could see a very tight crop of this one being more interesting, if the detail at base of bloom was better.

I do agree that a tight crop and better focus on the base the flower would help this a bit - but as is i think it works in a very abstract way. The background is nice and soft, the focus is good on the petals, and the tonal range is good.
