Default Before Sunrise

Before the first rays of the sun kissed the mountain top, I could see the snow capped peaks, still asleep in a bed of clouds. The faint light was just enough to create a dreamy atmosphere. Sorry for the grains, I was not carrying a tripod, so had to push the ISO to 1600.

Early morning in the eastern Himalayas in November. The place is called LOLEGAON, near Kalimpong, INDIA. This is taken from a forest resort in deep woods, with breath taking snow peaks at an angle of 120 degrees.

subrataofkris,

Seen any black bears? Have you walked on the Canopy bridge?

Sure I did the silly canopy walk and swayed it intentionally to crack a joke on my girl friend. We then walked in the deep forest and recorded the chirping of crickets and singing of birds. In fact they scared me with their wing flaps, I thought it was a storm. But no black bears in sight.

Its great to know, that you have been in this place. Have you trekked through the Neora Valley National Park?

Default First Rays

A little later, I stood there agape as the first rays of the morning sun flooded the snow peaks. Again a high ISO take filled my shot with grains

subrataofkris,

Ah, computers and Yahoo! The name Lolegaon and the idea of the Himalayas having a forest resort caused me to look it up, and then I wondered if you'd gotten other photos like the website. So, no, haven't been out of the US since early '70s. Your photos are even more interesting because of that.

Cheers,

Both of your pictures are great together. How much time elapsed between the first and second shot?
