I was worried you'd miss my edit......but your explanation was more detailed here than in the macro section...thanks! You got me thinking about macro add-ons for my point and shoot...eBay has some available...but do I really want to dip into my dSLR savings to buy an accessory for my p&s???? Thanks again for taking the time to explain your creation.

What kind of accessories? I have to say that your macros are fabulous already, but there are probably some things -- like off camera lighting -- that you could use with your DSLR when you unwrap it.

It is scary to think about you unleashed on a DSLR, but I suspect you'll probably keep shooting macros with the Olympus -- it is certainly easier than what I went through and your results speak for themselves.

ohmigoodness unwrapping my dSLR??? What a pleasant image...hopefully soon, hopefully soon...

Thank you for the compliments on my macro shots, but I still feel like I have a less than adequate system (at least that's what I tell myself, convincing me that I need to upgrade to dSLR ). See this new thread I just started regarding the accessories I'm speaking of.

I absolutely love the shines on the pointy parts. They look so ... succulent. I'm also enjoying the texture contrast between the pointy parts and the pink parts.

This is very inspiring. Thanks!

Don't do it tee....gotta get that DSLR. There is a site with a Rebel XTi body only for 249.99. Thats a deal and a half if you can find a lens or have someone you know that would be kind enough to let you borrow a lens that they hardly use. I find lenses are like jeans once you find a good comfortable pair you hardly ever go back to the others.

ELAY- what type of flower is that? i would love to see the whole thing
