As it stands, this shot doesn't particularly grab me. Slime covered rocks and a waterfall shot at a relatively slow speed? I think it would be a good candidate for some extreme post processing, forgetting any sense of representation and exploring colour and texture.

Yeah, there's not really much of a subject here. The mass of water just hits you, and then that's just about it.

Its ok for a record shot, but to highlight on the veins, I think you need to work on the water and push the contrast without burning out the whites. As Wulf said, extreme post processing might work. But maintaining the water texture might be very difficult in such a case.
