Default Looming Over the Hill

Its been a while since i posted a pic here...

I took this tonight during a mediocre thunderstorm. This was actually two separate strikes that I got lucky with. I did play with this a bit to bring out the colors and detail i wanted - as the original was a bit low on contrast and a tad bit overexposed in certain parts.

Great catch! I gotta figure out how to shoot lightening...

Anyways, I really like the red light (car I presume??) moving horizontally across the road...it sort of serves as an interesting color and line direction contrast from your awesome lightening.

Great composition overall! Colors, light, sharpness all seem spot on!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks - these were all taken with ISO 400, f8, manual focus set to infinity, and bulb. The red light is actually from an old streetlight that was a little more orange until PP.

Well you got me there...I thought the red light was a car zooming right through your shot! Thanks for the settings...I will keep them in mind the next time I try to shoot lightening.

WOW xysmas, what a neat photo, the colours are wonderful. I have to try this some time. Do you use a remote switch for these shots? - Overexposed !

This shot is amazing! I would love to try some lightening shots but never see much around my parts.
I think the road is what makes it though. I have sen many lightening shots online but always over a tree or grassy knoll. Never have I seen a road in one that adds so much interest to a photo. This lightening photo is a step above the others due to the road and the street light adding a different look to the image.
I love it!

Simply amazing, I wish we got storms like that, and if we do I either am to late or sleeping.

Great work, hope you post more soon.
