The larger image is set to private on flickr and that would help to judge tonal quality a bit more.

From the small image though - the is a great shot. The level of detail is really quite high and the tonal range is good. I personally would have gone a little deeper on the black side to really push that great contrast more. The image works really well for me - the horns make a wonderful curve to the evey at the center and he's got great expression there. Good bokeh and DoF as well.
