Very nice DOF!
The empty space doesn't really bother me. The diagonal line leads my eyes directly me to the head of the bird.
I only thing that you cut off some tail feathers by cropping the picture.

I agree with Mischa. With the background blurred it does not distract from the subject, which your eye is drawn to. Nice Shot.
