Default Moda Lambretta

Wow after a year of shooting with a 350D I finally got around to shooting in RAW. Took this shot while on vacation. ISO was all wrong at 1600 - serves me right for not checking. Let me know how this shot could have been better.

Cheers,
Karl

In my eyes, there should be more colour balance in the composition. If you notice carefully, there is red, green and brown and white in the background. The central character is sitting on a scooter, which has lot of reflecting surfaces. Due to so many variations and deep contrasts, I cannot concentrate on any one aspect. I would try to keep a flat coloured background and frame in more on the human figure. By doing so, I can concentrate on the exposure of her face, hair and the tone of her skin. May be, I can bend a little low and frame her photograph by eliminating the scooter altogether and keeping he between the two mirrors only.

You are a fast learner, great! This looks much better, a liitle more crop from bottom (just below the headlight) will be better. I will try a little post processing in photoshop and send it back to you when I get some time.

Regards,

The second one is a really nice shot. The first one not so much because your shooting from top , if you had bent down to her eye level (Similar to the second one) and composed the shot the same way it would have looked much better, IMHO

that second post is a major improvement from the first. the first was distracting and like already mentioned its due to the busy colors all over.
Nice photos though and congrats and going RAW.
