You say "pseudo HDR from a raw shot" can you explain a little what you mean by that and what steps you took to convert the picture. Thanks.

in photomatix it will take a RAW file and make a "HDR" like image out of it all on its own. Really fast work too. Then you just go int othe tone mapping and adjust however you like.
