Smile Blue Mountains Grevillea

This is an example of where I am at with my photography atm - I enjoy closeup nature studies (except on a windy day when even the plants move!). Would value any comments on this pic.

Taken with a Canon 350D in closeup, using 18-55mm lens, auto focus etc. so am unsure what the settings were. Have just looked into the manual settings of the camera and intend to play more soon. And then venture more into Photoshop when I know what I want to do with it!! (Hope I have uploaded pic properly - not sure what the quality will be like!)

I am trying to look at some of the photos "older" that were viewed but never received a critique. I think you are off to a good start here. You have an eye for composition. With the size of the posted image, it is difficult to assess how sharp the image is. Perhaps a little cropping from the right side may help. Nice muted colors. Keep shooting!

I would say that that it is a tiny bit blurry, perhaps a unsharp mask might help here? The colours of the flower are a teensy bit flat, don't feel the colour shown is perhaps the true colour of the plant? Wondered what ISO you used? The composition was good, you have a good eye. The 350D is also my baby and I know that with practice, you will show some corkers!! (thats excellent pics to the americans lol).

Also see sticky post about posting pics, I think you will find it most helpful!
