Unfortunately i cant think of a name for your shot, but i can critique.
The shot itself has alot of potential, but it seems to be blown out at the top of the sofa, im guessing this is because there is a window somewhere behind the sofa. The vase and flowers, being the main subject of the picture i feel needed to be shot from an almost direct approach. also removing the glass ornimants would make the focus of the vase more obvious as i find these distracting. Im not sure if you used a tripod, but if you were stood up not using one you could have knelt down (proposing manner) and shot at the lower angle. I noticed from the exif data on your flickr page you used Portrait mode to capture the shot. This produced the iso of 800, although im not firmilliar with your specific model of camera, i have the S6500fd, which allows for manual settings. If you half press the shutter, you should get the settings the camera wants to use. if you make a note of these, then goto manual mode input the settings, but changing the iso to 100, the photo would look less grainy and blown out. Also, in this mode you can modify the aperature and shutter speeds, doing this will give you a completely different picture altogether. Having a look on your flickr page shows some very interesting and creative shots, Keep up the good work i look forward to seeing more from you. ike, |
